Metro The underground train network that operates in Athens is called the Metro and the older line which runs both under and over ground is referred to as ISAP. The entire network operates 5.30 am-midnight and has three different lines. There is a direct connection between Athens International Airport and the Athens Hilton hotel.
Taxis You can hail a taxi in the street or book one by phoning a local cab company with a small surcharge for this service. Keep in mind that it may be difficult to find taxis during rush hours. You can get to the airport by taxi 24hrs a day. They'll drop you off right outside the departures entrance. An average taxi ride from Syntagma Square to the airport costs approximately € 30 - € 35.
Airport The Greek capital is served by Eleftherios Venizelos New Airport, situated some 27 kilometers (17 miles) north - easyt of Athens. Linked by the six lane Attiki Odos express way, the Metro and Proastiakos.
